Fourth of July Frenzy

Hi guys!!!

So I spent the day before the 4th sewing. I had bought some Fourth of July cotton fabric @ Joann's and tons of ribbon @ Hobby Lobby. The idea was to make some stuff and sell locally but I only had time to make the dress above and two other bows.

Not bad eh? The pillowcase was from my own construction with the help of the intenet. I took my daughters width and added 4" to each side. Then to make the arm holes, I cut 2" deep and 4" long and rounded it off.

I have learned a great deal while making all of this---- the take away is, if  I would like to sell this stuff, I need to make more and a lot sooner-- like in Dec. Lesson learned!!!!

Hello custom made tank dress!!!!

Hi guys!!!

About two months ago, I came across the a website with super cute clothes. Below is a sample of the dress (the version that I saw had black and white stripes on top and fuchsia pink on the bottom) that I absolutely adore and when I first saw it I hesitated to buy it. So a couple of weeks and it was sold out *grrrrrr*. I put my name on the email notification list but I never saw it again :(

So this now became my new mission. This dress is about $40, not including shipping, so out the door $50. This gave me a really good excuse to shop online at one of my fav places to buy knits online--- GirlCharlee.com

I was able to buy all the fabric for about half the cost and decided to sew my heart out.

Below is the McCall Pattern (M6744) that I bought at Joann's (on sale). I used pattern A with a long skirt option. I did not do the elastic belt because I was going to make a polka dot belt--- I will see later if I need to install it.

Below is the finished product. I would love to hear from you and your suggestions and thoughts. For those who sew, I am having issues with the weight of the skirt pulling the top and my arm openings seem to stretch throughout the day, so if you have some suggestions--- please feel free to post them.

Tadah!!!! I'm glad that I did this--- even after cutting the pattern out, I had to pull up the sleeves a lot ,modify my waist, and hem for my 5'2 figure.

xoxo,

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!! Cricut here we come :)

Hi guys!!!

Ok, so my birthday is coming up and I took the plunge and bought The Cricut Explore Air. I bought it Joann's and I found  out that my teacher discount applied so I did it. I think my crafting brain is on overload right now because this device can make cards, banners, cut vinyl and even leather---- OH BOY--- let the crafting begin!!!!

I am thinking about making some crowns for my Zeta sister but I would love to hear what you guys have made or any ideas for the Cricut that I could share and do.

In the meantime, I am thinking about going on Ebay to buy rolls of Oracle Vinyl 351 and then head over to the Dollar General and buy some clear contact paper. After that, I think tonight I am going to go on YouTube and watch some Cricut tutorials.

Thanks for reading!
